Elegy: that warm beat is alive, 2022-2023
P5js, Arduino
Developed from a prototype project that I made during the high school, I've been exploring the symbolism and meaning of the heart as an element. Through body tracking , projections mapping and AR filter, I place a heart on user’s body . In this work, the camera will capture the shape of the user and then project it on the screen using particles. Through a paulse sensor that the user wearing on the hand, the particles bounce with the real-time heart beat of the user. In addition, the background music are generated in real time, also base on the heartbeat of the user. This work reflects my unease about a world where wars are becoming more and more frequent.
The so-called 'war' is a setting for the mutual imposition of what each side believes to be the correct idea.
Push it 2024
wood metal Arduino
It's a fun little device: use a PS5 gamepad to control a small character walking around the screen, and as it reaches the edge of the screen, it pushes the whole device around. This is the final project for Physical Computing in the second semester of my freshman year, and it was developed by Toby Lu and me. We used the Mecanum wheel (gimbal) for the mobile base, the Ipad for the display, and the Arduino R3 board for Bluetooth connectivity and control. Character animation is achieved using Unreal Engine 5
